Belarus’ gold, forex reserves up by $39.7m in July

10/08/2026 11:08
MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves stood at $14.2 billion at the beginning of August, having increased by $39.7 million over the course of July, BelTA reports citing the weekly macroeconomic review of the Eurasian Development Bank.

According to analysts, this growth was driven by a $35.3 million increase in the value of foreign currency reserve assets, amid an oversupply of foreign currency relative to demand.

“The volume of international reserves corresponds to three months’ worth of imports of goods and services, which meets the international adequacy benchmark for reserves,” the experts added.
