MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – Graduation ceremonies for 11th-grade students will be held today in schools across Belarus,
BelTA has learned.
The graduation evenings, which include the presentation of school leaving certificates, including special commendation certificates with gold or silver medals, are held at school premises. In certain cases, the event may take place at youth supplementary education institutions or cultural venues. The time, duration, and location of each graduation ceremony are determined by the head of the secondary education institution in consultation with the parent committee.
For Minsk residents completing the 11th grade, this year’s graduation celebrations will be organized in a new format. The official ceremonies will first take place at schools, followed by entertainment portions held at four major cultural and leisure venues across the city: the Chizhovka Arena, the Football Manege, the Palace of Sports, and the Sports and Cultural Center of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. The concert programs for these unified graduation events will reflect the themes of the Year of the Belarusian Woman and the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, with music performances conveying love for the country and fostering a sense of patriotism and pride in Belarus among the younger generation. Additionally, a disco featuring contemporary hits will be organized for the graduates, and Belarusian performers as well as youth bloggers have been invited to the celebration. The graduation evenings, which are set to begin at midnight, are expected to continue until dawn.
This year, more than 58,000 young people are completing the 11th grade in Belarusian schools.
