BelTA’s exhibition celebrating women opens in Brest

11.06.2026 09:06
BREST, 10 June (BelTA) – BelTA launched the Women's Strength exhibition at the Brest Academic Drama Theater on 10 June, BelTA has learned.

The exhibition dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman features 30 photographic panels showcasing more than 200 photographs selected from BelTA’s photo archive. The opening took place as part of the qualifying round of the Beauty of Belarus national beauty contest for mothers with many children.

“The photographic panels depict women who brought education to Belarusian soil, built churches, and defended their land against the enemy alongside men. The exhibition is imbued with warmth, tenderness, and love,” said Yelena Damiyeva, a member of the contest's jury, chairperson of the Brest Regional Organization of the Belarusian Union of Women.

The exhibition introduces visitors to outstanding women whose names have become symbols in the Belarusian history: Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Rogneda, Anastasia of Slutsk. The exhibition also covers the wartime period, postwar reconstruction and Belarus’ cultural and scientific potential.

“The photographs reflect the lightness, intelligence, kindness, determination, mercy, courage, resilience, femininity, and other qualities of Belarusian women,” Yelena Damiyeva noted.

The exhibition will be running until 15 June.
