MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – First grass has been cut on 80% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 13 June, first grass was cut on the area of 1,124,200 hectares (80%) and removed from the area of 1,018,300 hectares, which is 90.6% of the grass cut. Second grass was cut on the area of 29,300 hectares and removed from the area of 16,280 hectares, which is 55.6% of the grass cut.
Belarus harvested 86,500 tonnes of hay (12.4%), 5,639,900 tonnes of haylage (42.3%) and 203,600 tonnes of silage (0.99%).
There are plans to harvest over 9.8 million tonnes of grass fodder this year; at the moment 17% of the plan has been fulfilled. There are plans to procure over 20.5 million tonnes of silage, 13.3 million tonnes of haylage, and 700,400 tonnes of hay.
